Civic Engagement and Communication in Urban Green Design and Planning, explores how cities can meaningfully involve citizens in shaping greener, more sustainable neighborhoods. As public trust in top-down decision-making declines, residents increasingly expect transparency, dialogue, and shared ownership in projects that affect their daily lives.



Learning Objectives

By the end of the training, you will be able to:


1.Understand the value of early and meaningful citizen engagement in urban green projects.


2.Identify community motivations (sense of community, engagement, memory effect) and integrate them into planning.


3.Apply practical tools to involve citizens at different stages of project development.


4.Maintain dialogue and trust throughout long-term or short-term projects.


5.Facilitate inclusive communication and resolve conflicts through co-design.
